And that time you laughed at me for using a "bush" comb as a pretend hot curler in my hair, you told me to just keep swimming and you'd cut it out later.. lol. I was terrified but you made light of it, no big deal... it'll grow back. What about when you gave me the only party that I can remember.. I think I was turning 5! The whole family was there for me, your "Channy-Boo".

I know we hadn't always been the best of friends, but I know that you were so tough because you saw "ME"... in you, and wanted the stars and the moon for me, everything you dreamed for yourself but never had. Thanks for being so hard on me, thanks for all those times you said "HELL NO", thanks for making me believe that I could do anything. I'm so creative because of YOU! Guess what Mom? I did it! I became that woman that you dreamed I would, but I'm still your little girl. The same one who loved her two middle fingers and the love of her mother's embrace, carrying her!

I AM Princess Tiana!!!

I watched Princess and the Frog for the first time last night! I had to dry away the tears throughout most of the movie, felt like I was watching a movie about myself. I was going to retire my Princess Tiana themed set at the end of this month. After watching the movie, I feel so blessed to have made so many sets for so many little girls (kinda like the momma at the beginning of the movie)... I'm also that girl (Tiana) who's always working, never having time to have fun.. so focused on a dream.. Like the song she sang in the movie, "I'm almost there"...

Yesterday was one of those days, that I wondered if Posh is what I'm supposed to be doing with my life. I work so hard, I often wonder if what I do makes a difference at all..I was taken aback by the irony of the similiarity of Tiana's story to how I grew up, I now see that it is no mistake that The Princess Tiana themed set is my best seller. God definelty has a way of smiling on us. I'm so thankful to God for using me through Posh.. Even if its in just a small way. I'm just gonna keep dreaming..the same as I did when I was a little girl. Anything is possible if you believe and trust in God.

For those of you who may not know, I grew up in the lower ninth ward of New Orleans, LA, moving to the Florida projects at the age of 10. I dreamed of owning a NOLA mansion as a little girl. St. Charles Ave, in New Orleans boast the most magnificent homes I'd ever seen. To-date, I still dream of living like a Princess in one of those old-world NOLA mansions! A girl can dream rt :)

Hair products for baby's hair?

I've been asked a few times about what I use on my hair and my nieces hair. I'll start by saying, I'm one of the worst when it comes to combing/styling hair lol! I love natural hair and am against 100 million puffs with rubber bands and 18million bow-retts! Sorry for the spelling.. that's how we said it growing up. I know that many afro-american moms are gonna hate me for saying that, but it's just my opinion.

I think my nieces hair is the cutest when its in a big puff, maybe two.. with cute bows, or just let down with a headband. I seldom plat/braid their hair... I think its adorable in a big curly puff! My sister sometimes hates me for doing this because I don't "comb" their hair.. but o-well! lol She's slowly adopted the same philosophy :)

If I told you what I use "blue magic" grease and water! Or Pantene (the cheapest, thickest conditoner I can fine) I'm sure you'd have me jailed by the hair-stylist Police of America.

I do however luv the Miss Jessies line of products and have used their line on my hair in the past.

My questions to mommies are:

WHAT DO YOU USE ON THE PRECIOUS HAIR OF YOU LITTLE PRINCESS/WHAT TEXTURE IS HER HAIR
HOW SOON SHOULD PRODUCT BE APPLIED (newborn, 12mo?)
HOW OFTEN WOULD YOU APPLY PRODUCT (everyday, once a week...)
DO YOU LOVE IT
HAVE YOU TRIED OTHER PRODUCTS THAT DID/DIDN'T WORK

Ooh La La! I finished my first set of denim tutu's last night! I'm soooo excited about how they turned out and will try and get a few more pieces done later tonight! What do you think about allowing clients to send in their own gently used jeans, skirts, shorts, overalls and taking a few bucks off so I don't have to go looking. Yall know I don't like leaving Posh Land.

I spent all day yesterday with my in-laws! I forget how much of a treat they are. My father-in-law is a hoot! lol! He took me to one of his favorite consignment stores where we found these recycled denim pieces. I jokingly told the clerk that I wanted my senior discount since I'll have a bday in less than 2weeks.. When she said you don't look 55 my father-in-law jumped at it and said well I get it! It was to funny watching him get carded! lol! lol! lol!

Needless to say, these were extra fun to make, from finding the perfect denim pieces to stitching my own belt loops on :)

Things are starting to pick up a bit at the boutique :) The store is really cool and I love that I get feedback as to what people want. Tutu's are def still a must have item, but I plan to intro a few new styles soon.

Back to the tutu dress...lol

How beautiful is this... I consider it a work of art! Of course I have a completely different way of constructing mine... I always have to make things more complex rt...lol

This dress reminds me of a fairytale! I think it may be one of the prettiest things I've made :) The dress is constructed of 4 layers of fluff! That's over 200yards of fluffiness folks!

I embellished it with a few bling flowers... I can't wait to make more of these.

The flowers at the halter are on a removable clip. Works as a hair barrette 2! :)

Posh Baby Onesie Dresses

I don't think little Miss Posh has been formally introduced! She is my little baby, she doesn't cry and keeps really still and smiles so I can take her picture. lol! lol! lol!

I've been waiting to post these... I'm so extra excited about these little dresses. I plan to offer these as a set with the headband and hopefully flip flops. I'm just not sure about sizing for the flip flops or if I even need to go that far. Maybe I should do just the dress and headband? Help please.... Also if there are any suggestions on color combos that would be wonderful! I only really want to carry maybe 4-6 options. I'm def not feeling the all white... i just think its blah! the team fabrics can get weird too, but def can work :)

By the way.. these can be personalized! Can't wait to post more pics once I monogram and bling a few of these!

Custom T-Shirt Tutu Dress

I've been extra busy trying to keep up, hopefully I'll have some extra help soon :)

Today I was hoping to ship a bunch of stuff but the only thing that's ready to go is Nurse Netta's order. :)

Nurse Netta and I go way back to 7th grade. I think she may have been the first customer of my hair bow biz way back then! lol! I guess I've always had the entrepreneurial spirit burning inside... lol!

This coming Sat is Netta's little fashionista's birthday party! Her theme is all things fashion and shopping! Her cake is shaped like a cash register with a big credit card! I can't wait to see it! Netta asked if I could attach the tutu to the shirt. Her wish was my command, and gave way to my newest creation the tee-tutu dress!

It's a full tutu attached to a personalized tee! Netta asked if i could corset the sides of the shirt, which added some extra charm :) Giving credit where its due, Ms. Leah over at Bella Artistry is a master at the corseted sides and her designs are where I first saw this detail done.

One of my favorite people in the world ordered this tutu for her little princess! She's a Bronco's fan :) I decided to experiment on a tank to match. I am revamping my I heart football tee. I like the finished product, I'd just make the design bigger in the future :) Hope u like Mykel, I can't wait to see Bunches in this set! BTW the onesie is a small, but will fit her now until past 12months. I realized when making the birthday sets, that this tank-onesie is a better fit for 12months ;)

What a breathtaking Sunset! The best part of this biz trip was getting to hang out w jim. We hardly ever have time just to be still and watch a movie, or have dinner w friends. Im speechless! The NO Saints just WON the Super Bowl!

The day couldn't have been more beautiful! The sun was shining, a cool breeze blew outside, and we enjoyed a beautiful lake view from our friends media room! The stage was set for the Saints to make history!

Our friends Mike and Veronica Rumph hosted a party that would make any Who Dat proud! It was exciting to see how much love the Saints have from people of all different walks of life! To have die-hard Dolphins fans screaming for the Saints was amazing!

I'm so happy for all of the fans! My family and friends! This win will be enjoyed for years to come!

Back to the Who Dat state tomorrow!!!! Time to party like a rock star!!!!

2010 NFL Player Networking Event

Just a year ago Posh made her debut at this event, so it is indeed near and dear 2 my heart :)

I met some of the coolest people and even made new friends that are extra excited about Posh and want to help me bring it to the next level.

I feel really blessed! And super excited! The people who stopped by my booth really boosted my self esteem with kind words of praise about my work. Its a big deal to me to get sales at a networking event. I sold a few pieces and have a few new prospective clients for custom orders!

Jimmy was hard at work too. I didnt see much of him. He spent most of his time visiting with his colleagues, and new friends... :)

Thank god i wasnt caught on tape diving under the table for the last 2 Posh Cookies... (its a long story) lol... Angies Tasty Treats, and Utopian flavors were welcomed to rave reviews! Thanks soooo much to my girls, and dude for the Posh Goodies! They are both taking orders for any interested cookie monsters and praline cany slayers.

What a day in MIA

Exhausted is an understatement! We got up really early this am to participate in The Greatest Players Celebrity Golf Tournament... Jim had loads of fun... And actually golfed a good game and even got a few pointers from Michael Jordan... Lol i knew i should have stayed w him w the camera...

I jumped in to help OTF stuff some goodie bags for Denim & Divas :) I got my very on P-Wifey Card now too... Lol.. Lol.. I wonder what type strings I can pull w this thing... A girl can dream rt

Met the sweetest lady at the event.. Her son is playing for a Super Bowl ring on Sunday! And yes Who Dats.. Hes a SAINT! Bring it home for momma!

You know that old saying, if you have to ask how much, you probably can't afford it... Well that old saying applys here! This football is blingalicious! I just had to get a pic for all of my Saints-manics! Have u noticed that im wearing black n gold! Thats right.. Thought i'd represent for all my hommies :)

About 100 miles outside of MIA! Yayyyyy!!! I just fid out how to blog from my phone! Watch out world!

Had to leave my Posh Girl at home to fit jazz and zigg... They indeed live a very "Posh" life! Sometimes I envy them. If only i had a spot to curl up in and sleep after only getting an hour of sleep last night.

We've been seeing the black and gold faithful on the road all day! Can u tell that these Who Dats are ready to Par-TAY! RVs r soooo much fun!

Of couse the dress and tutus sold, and between getting orders out, pkging Posh up and preping for MIA there just wasnt enough time to get more of em done. Oh....I hate that I couldnt get this done. Still learning and growing... Learning and Growing!

Just shipped my last order of 2009! I have been extremly blessed this year. God has smiled on me with the best clients ever! This past year, I've experienced a truly charmed life of creating beautiful pieces for the most adorable kids :)

This time of year brings forth reflection of the past and dreams for tomorrow! I know that the time and energy I invest in my passion for Posh has caused me to sacrifice time for friends, family, events, and even my doggies. I can see, sense, and feel the manifestation happening. I will be normal again, sipping on martinis' shooting the breeze with my girls at a late afternoon lunch or Sunday brunch.
